There was a beautiful sunset here (Lancaster, CA) on Sunday night, too.
Beautiful and toxic. Mmm. pollution.
but for some reason I stared at it instead of taking a picture. I think maybe I consider not taking pictures is a form of rebellion against the transience of the sunset - allowing it to change rather than trying to catch it. Even though later on, I wish I had caught it so I could show someone else. Or so that I could have evidence for another weird sibling cross-country link.
It looked far-off and powdery-colored.
lavender cut-out mountains like opaque low clouds. dusty gold like an old orange zest, powedered. fade to blue velvet and stars in a sky wide like the rim of a bowl.
