How to Save a Life

I'm not exactly sure why... but for the last 35 days straight(and still counting), if i turned on a radio, i was guaranteed to listen to "How to Save a Life"-the Fray- now, some may say that this is due to the popularity of the song, so of course it's going to be on. but still.. i can't help but wonder if it's some sort of sign.
i'm back from San Diego which i embarked upon with my fellow band and choir members. it was all in all pretty sweet. there were many long bus rides, and complaining people (sometimes including me) but none the less, there was some pretty sweet times there.
so without further adue, San Diego pics

I wish my door was this awesome

Hope. Time. And More

Inspired by a picture in Rossy's room. Turns out was a picture Tracy had drawn for her.
Some one has shown me which path to take, and has given me light to see.
As i travel they become lost, left behind at one of the numerous turns.
My candle is melting.
The very light which is so necessary to me is destroying itself in a waxy demise.
I sit, extinguish the light on my own will,
Saving what is left of it.
Now I will wait for someone else to come my way.
Give me light.
And maybe another candle.

Spring is in the Air. So is a 60% chance of percipitation

i am well aware some of these are not right side up.. i'm hoping to trick everyone into having to lean way to the side to look at the picture. that, and i just haven't had adequate time to make this post better. there are many more pictures, but with my current time restraints, this is the best i could whip up. there will be more to follow, but not for a while.
actually, i have some video footage of the campus, again. more to come.

waking up

today we got up, and ate some food in the Co-op (where college people cook food to eat instead of buying it) and that was pretty good. we put some bread, potatoes, and some green onions in an omlete, and ate a pear. then we went off to get some pens at the book store. after which, i got on this computer and wrote this post.
so far i have sat in on a psych class regarding memory and how it responds to tramatic events. later today i'm sitting on a genetic something or other talk.more on that later.
the campus here is really nice and filled with climable trees. it's usually overcast here, and it sprinkles every now and then but apart from that the place has a good feel to it. it almost makes me feel like i should actively be producing something or using my time to get something done. there is, from what i'm told, an on campus apple store that i have yet to find, and they have their own research nuclear reactor. there is still a chance that i may be able to watch it glow and what-not.
***
ok, now i'm home. it's been a while before i have been able to get on here due to massive loads of homework. i thoroughly enjoyed the time i had at Reed. I mean, the place has a Japanese Sword handling class. you don't get much more l337 than that. upon arriving back home, i realize that i feel like a trapped entity... i believe i described it best as feeling like i was stuck in a nontangible tar pit that is high school. i can't believe i'm learning inside one single building when i could be walking around outside for 45 minutes before the next class. or waking up at 8 pm instead of 550. the campus was beautiful. some of these pictures don't do it just for , one it was rainy. i try imagining it if it were sunny and i'm sure it's amazing. i've also noticed that just walking outside for those periods after classes is very stress relieving. just the fact that you aren't contained is a nice feeling. my next post will be full of the pictures that i could have put here but didn't.

Talking with the voice of the upper sky

lately i've been noticing how when i see people, or meet people, or basically just what stimuluses look to me are in color. some where just hovering in front of my head is a little projection screen that has those little visualization things where you just watch colors dance to a song. so i associate certain colors with certain people. for instance, i'm either a light or dark shade of blue, that is separate from a shade of green. other people are like mixing colors, where they blend, others are multicolored with completely different colors. the top one, apart from how my previous thought process, works, i think, on different levels. this is the one more immediate to me with colors.

Scanned'd

our new scanner (that actually talks to our mac) has finally been installed so i may actually be able to get some new pictures up here as i draw them. currently i've been working on trying to draw how a song sounds, or how an emotion looks like. i have a few here, but that's all for now.
-what my thought process looks like to me

-first attempt at drawing "Kiss from a Rose"

-and finally i just thought i should do somethings straight out of my want for super powers-

great freezing point batman!

today we were hit by a very cold wind from .. somewhere else that's cold. we awoke to no school (for once) due to the temp being at -35ish. to which i can remember mom telling us years ago to dress warm because it was -40 (without wind). so i finished homework that was "already done" and slept in for a while. the problem with it being so cold out, is that the house gave up staying warm. most of the house just refused to be warmer than 40 degrees. so , and i wish i had a picture of this, we got hay from the barn and as quickly as our numb limbs could make it happen, we constructed a wall of the stuff around the perimeter of our house. so with our little hay barrier we stayed inside where i found we were out of hot chocolate and lived in agony ><
